A visit to the farm

We stayed at Grandma & Grandpa Graves' house Saturday.  We took the whole family...Soxy & Moon enjoyed all the open space to run but were VERY preoccupied with the farm cats!  Saturday evening we went to the Davis County fair and had a great time!  We ate yummy fair food and Mack had a blast hanging out and riding rides with Uncle George, Ike, and Drew.

Twins - they were dressed the same! :)

Sunday we had a nice breakfast and enjoyed time at the farm.  Grandpa took Mack for a tractor ride - this was a big deal for Mack!  Scott and Mack rode the 4 wheeler around a little.  And, of course, Grandma took Mack for a wagon ride.  George came out and took all the boys to the pond to feed the fish - Mack will be telling stories for days after this visit!

We are off to the lake for the rest of the week.  Our local fair here in Clark County begins Wednesday - we look forward to attending when we return this weekend.

Have a GREAT week!

Our new house...

We were very busy the first week unloading and getting settled.  We had lots of help and greatly appreciated it.  My parents helped the first couple days - then Scott's mom & Loren came to help - George, Mel, and the boys also pitched in.  Thanks everyone!!  Scott has been very busy with football practice and weight training.  I have been cleaning and organizing.  Mack has been very helpful and enjoying our new location.  The preschool is right behind our house and we have been enjoying the playground in the evenings - Mack loves it! :)

Vacation @ the lake

We really enjoyed our week with Grandma Laura and Loren.  We swam, shopped, barbecued, dined, worked around the house, and relaxed.  We enjoyed an evening at Bagnell Dam - we rode bumper cars, looked in the gift shops, and had old time photos taken.  What fun!!

Day 2 of our move...

Saturday was a big day of driving.  We crossed 3 more states - driving a total of 16 hours and made it all the way to the lake.  WOW!  It was a long time in the car but we were so glad to be there!!

Scott’s brother and family met us Sunday evening for a nice visit the kids had a great time.  We all went to the pool and relaxed Monday.  Then Bryan, Dre, and the kids had to go back to Kansas City Monday afternoon.

Grandma Laura and Loren arrived Monday evening in time for dinner and fireworks.  YAY!!! Mack was so excited to see them.   We had a really nice and relaxing week.

5 years

Well, we did it!  We got everything packed on the trailer, the car loaded, and we left Las Vegas today @ noon.  Today was our 5th wedding anniversary and we are excited about beginning this new chapter in our lives.

I am so blessed to be married to the most amazing man!  I love every day we have together and look forward to all our future holds!

Packing...

We have been busy packing, seeing friends, and having fun.  Moving is no joke!  There is so much to be done.  I am really glad that we got started early and have been able to work casually.  We got rid of A LOT!  We posted things on Craigslist and we had two very successful garage sales - yet still have so much unnecessary stuff!  The leftovers are being picked up by a local charity on Thursday.

Our moving truck arrived this afternoon.  We are using ABF - they drop off a trailer and we have 3 days to load everything, then a truck comes to pick it up and drives it to Missouri for us.  When it arrives we have 3 days to unload - whew!!!

We are looking forward to our drive across the country.  We will be taking the southern route through Flagstaff, AZ - Albuquerque, NM - Amarillo, TX - Oklahoma City & Tulsa, OK - Springfield, MO and up to Lake of the Ozarks.  We will be spending the week with Scott's family at the lake - we can't wait!!  Next stop... Kahoka to unload the trailer and get situated.  Wish us luck getting everything loaded!  We will keep you posted.

Scott and I enjoyed a couple days out on the town.  Anna kept Mack for us while we indulged a bit before we leave Las Vegas. We went to the pool at the Green Valley Ranch and spent one night down on the strip.  Fun, Fun, Fun!

Coming Home...

The Murdock family is finally making our big move!
For the past couple years we have talked about moving back to the midwest.  We have always had our mind set on going to Missouri - that would put us closer to my mom and dad and Scott has family there as well.  This spring we both applied for our state teaching licenses and Scott began applying to many different districts.  We just received offers and contracts from Kahoka, Missouri.  We are moving from Clark County, NV to Clark County, MO...ironic, huh?  Scott will be teaching middle school PE & Health and will take the offensive coordinator position with the varsity football team.  He is very excited to get involved with a passionate and dedicated coaching staff.  Many of the coaches in the area are former teammates that he played with at Culver Stockton.  What a small world!! I have been offered a first grade position at the elementary... and am thrilled!!  And of course Mack will enjoy being spoiled by Grandma & Grandpa and family!!! :)  We will be busy packing and hope to hit the road at the beginning of July.  Whew!!

We are so excited for this new chapter in our lives.  However, it will be VERY difficult leaving all of the wonderful friends we have here in Las Vegas. We hope to spend time with them in the next month and will ALWAYS treasure the memories we have made!!

Here are some recent pics of Mack:

Giddy-Up Giraffe!

Check out the boots!!

We play a lot of football at our house.  Needless to say we only have one real helmet so whoever is playing with Mack has to wear the bucket! ;)

We love visits to the park!!

I love his look of pure & absolute happiness!
