Smith wedding

On Saturday we attended the wedding of one of the coaches Scott works with.  What a nice day and beautiful ceremony!  The wedding was in Lancaster, MO and the reception was in Bloomfield.  So after the wedding Mack stayed with Grandma and Grandpa while Scott and I had a date.  ;)  We had fun and enjoyed a nice evening together.

Mack sported "porcupine hair"  (lol)

Congratulations
Mr. and Mrs. Smith!

4th of July

We REALLY enjoyed fireworks this year.  Usually we spend the 4th at the lake with Scott's mom.  This year we were home and loved it.  Scott has always loved fireworks.  Growing up in Nevada (in the desert) he was not able to use them...much.  Even when we go to the lake we cannot light them in city limits.

In Kahoka, MO there are not many restrictions on fireworks...much to Scott and Mack's enjoyment!  Scott couldn't believe that we could light them off in our street, driveway, and back yard.  Our neighbors and whole town were doing the same thing.  I have always been nervous around fireworks so I observed from the deck or through a window.

We barbecued with friends and enjoyed a fireworks display at the fairgrounds.

last T-Ball game

Mack's last T-Ball game was Wednesday.  What a fun season.  Mack had fun and learned a lot.  We can't wait until next season!

Happy Anniversary

Scott and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary on July 1.  We both agree that time flies while we are having fun!

@ the lake

We enjoyed a long weekend get-away at the lake last weekend.  Scott had time to go so we packed up and went.  We enjoyed relaxing and rejuvenating!

swimming at the pool

We went miniature golfing.  Mack almost had a melt down at the first hole.  His ever patient father explained the rules of the game and all was well for the remaining 17 holes.  Mack had a blast and did surprisingly well.  Scott and I tied -  we are just a little bit competitive.  :)

On our last evening we found a turtle.  This was a very thrilling experience.  We found him on the nature trail near the pool.  Mack was so excited!!

We carried him home and down to the lake.

The boys tried to put him in the lake...he kept coming back.  Mack stayed by his side and made sure he was ok.  Fun, Fun, Fun!

VBS

VBS is amazing!!  It is such a GREAT week for our family.   Mack loves attending.  I love teaching the pre-primary class.  Scott loves being the games leader.  This year was great because Mack was in both of our classes.  I was a little hesitant about this arrangement at first...you know being mom and teacher...no worries it was a great experience!

Our focus for the week was the Armor of God,  Ephesians 6:10-20.

On Sunday during our service Mack sat in the front row with all of the other children and got up to perform songs.  He sang all of the words.  So proud of this boy!

Swimming Lessons

We signed Mack up for swimming lessons at the end of June.  His first few days were like private lessons because there weren't many kids in his class.  I thought this was great because he was getting 1-1 instruction.  Mack wasn't too thrilled with this arrangement though.  He was really shy and a little nervous.  The last few days were better because another boy joined the class and he had a buddy to swim with.  He was much more excited to participate and try when he had someone else there with him.

He did go off the diving board with no complaint.  I can't believe this even happened...we really celebrated this event.

I said to Mack, "Great Job buddy!  I am so proud of you for going off the board!"

Mack replied, "I didn't go off the board, he put me in the water."

hmmm...Smarty pants.
