Visiting Grandma & Grandpa Graves

We just returned from our trip to Iowa.  We had so much fun and are very rested and relaxed!  We got to spend lots of time with our family and visit some friends.  When we go home I tend to be very selfish with time and prefer to stay planted at Mom & Dad's house.  Since Mack doesn't get to see them often I just like to watch them bond and enjoy their time together.  I am sorry for not getting together with more friends and I promise to do better on our next visit!

We arrived and Mack made himself right at home!  He waltzed around like he owned the place.  Grandma had lots of toys and books for him.  She took time off work to stay home and play.  Grandpa kept Mack happy with frequent peanuts from his shirt pocket.  Every time Grandpa would come in the house Mack would go to the entertainment center and point to the can of peanuts on top...Grandpa would reach in his shirt pocket and give Mack one.

Everyday after breakfast Mack would get his shoes and take them to whoever was willing to put them on.  Some days we had to distract him because of the rain, but we were able to spend a lot of time outside.  He loved the cats!  He would run up to one laying on the deck - stop, squat, and shout with excitement... the cats of course ran away.  They eventually got used to each other and he was able to pet a few of them. Mack also loved to see the cows up close... he would moo & point.

Mack was very affectionate while we were visiting.  He started giving big squeezes for hugs and he started giving out kisses freely.  Grandma & Grandpa got a good night kiss before bedtime.  And one day he was especially loving w/ Grandma (I think this was because it gave her so much joy).

Here are some pictures from our visit.  Enjoy!

Enjoying the farm

Mack must have known it was our last day on the farm.  He wondered around the yard for almost 2 hours!  He was everywhere...and, of course, I was following close behind with my camera.  I got some amazing pics of his explorations.  We really enjoyed our time with our family and can't wait for the next visit!

Summer break...

I am enjoying the start of my summer break. I know all my fellow teachers appreciate these two little words..."summer break"! I am still teaching at a year round school so I am off from May 21 - June 21, then I go back and the school year ends the first week of August. Scott is done this Thursday and has the rest of the summer off. Mack and I are leaving on Friday to go visit Grandma and Grandpa Graves. We will be visiting for 10 whole days! We hope to see lots of family and friends and look forward to spending time on the farm. While we are in Iowa, Scott has football camp in St. George, Utah.

Teeth...

Teeth, are they really THAT important?  Of course they are, I'm just glad we don't have memory of their arrival.  Mack is getting more teeth ...aaagghh!!  It is a real pain - for all of us!  Yesterday was a tough day for him - fever, pain, the whole works.  He was much better this evening, thank goodness.

An afternoon @ the park :)

Mack insists on being outside as much as possible.  He will get his shoes and bring them to Scott or I.  Then he will push on the back of our legs to the door and bang on it when we get there...too cute.   He also really enjoys reading books right now - this is one of my favorite activities.

* cool guy *

   absolutely adorable!!

We will be making a trip to Iowa on May 26th.  If anyone is available and would like to get together let me know.  We hope to see lots of family and friends!

See you soon!

Beautiful weather...

We had a BEAUTIFUL weekend!  Our weather was amazing!  Thank goodness for that because Mack is such an 'outside' boy!  He is happiest to be running around & playing...or just sitting in his little lawn chair.  As you can see he is already a fan of sitting in trees - so cute!  He and the boxers continued to enjoy the bubbles, I'm not sure who enjoys them more.

Just hanging out in the tree!

Check out these eyes... This is the look we get when Mack knows he is doing something he shouldn't or when Scott or I tell him "no".

Mack has had a very sore bottom and took a few oatmeal baths in the kitchen sink this week.  He absolutely loved it - we may have to do this more often!

Mack loves sunglasses!
He wears whatever pair he can find.
