Terrible 2's...

We are thinking our WONDERFUL little boy has reached his TERRIBLE 2's!! :)

This picture sums up his attitude of the past week:

This was hilarious...but not really.  We were going for a walk and Mack was riding his bike.  He all of a sudden decided that he was done riding and didn't want anything else to do with his bike.  We suggested he walk with it or get back on and ride...he didn't like either of these choices.  Scott picked up the bike and ended up carrying it back to the house.

He has been riding his bike a lot and is actually getting really good at it.  We love watching his balance, coordination and confidence develop.

Better times on the bike:

Our weather is getting really nice.  It is supposed to be 90 degrees on Friday!  It is a little early for those temps and I hope it cools back down to the mid 70's for us to enjoy before those high temps arrive for good.  We are looking forward to many park visits and lots of fun outside in the near future!

We hope you all have a GREAT week!!

what's new?...

Whew, it's been awhile since our last update!  We have been busy, busy, busy!  At school I have been busy preparing my students for their big state exams.  Scott has also stayed busy at school and is preparing for the upcoming football season.  Mack is growing TONS!! His speech and vocabulary are developing at an incredible rate...with his attitude not far behind!  He speaks in 5-6 word sentences and surprises us daily!  He makes us laugh often - sometimes we have to turn and laugh because of his antics!  He continues to love being outside, riding his bike, building with his blocks, crashing his trucks, and reading books.

Here are a few pics:

Happy Birthday Mack!

We can hardly believe it's true...
Mack is 2!!!

We celebrated yesterday with our friends.  We feel so blessed and thankful for all of the wonderful friends we have!  Mack received many great gifts: trains, trucks, bball hoop, art set, clothes, & money just to name a few.  He had an amazing time entertaining and playing with his buddies! Thanks to everyone who made his day so special!!!

2nd birthday party:

Today we gave Mack our gift... a new balance bike & helmet.  He was so thrilled!  We could not have chose a better gift for him.  He rode it inside, outside, in the kitchen, around the living room, he even parked it outside the bathroom when he had to go - hilarious!  He kept saying "ride bike!"

Happy Birthday Mack:

Mack wanted to take a nap on the bottom step... so he could keep an eye on the bike, of course!

He insists on wearing the helmet! :)

Have a safe & happy week!

Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas in Iowa with Grandma & Grandpa Graves.  We had about a 3 hour delay on our trip there due to snow and related weather conditions - Thanks to Grandpa for picking us up and getting us home safely.  We were happy to have a white Christmas and so glad to be there!  We were all spoiled and enjoyed a very restful week on the farm.  Mack really loved his time with Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle George. We enjoyed the family and friends that we saw during our visit.

Mack enjoyed being Grandpa's buddy - they ate peanuts, played tractors, and checked out Grandpa's 'flashlight' nightly.

Mack got his 2nd hair cut during our visit.  He read lots of books with Grandma, built towers, went for walks, and emptied out her band aid box... he had many invisible boo-boos that Grandma could not resist - too cute!

Mack really likes "Gor" and is very interested in whatever he is doing.

During our visit Mack went sledding, checked cows, and rode the big tractor with Grandpa!

Winter Fun...

We are loving winter break!  I have been getting some little tasks done around the house, things that I have been putting off.  Scott has been fixing up things here at home and working on football.  Mack enjoys being home, running errands and playing all day.  Soxy & Moon love vacations because they get lots of attention and can nap all day.

We had a GREAT weekend with Grandma Laura & Loren.  We were very busy, here are some of our activities: buffets, shopping, Santa visit, Shark Reef, church, Gold & Silver Pawn Shop (Pawn Stars), Stratosphere - Top of the World Restaurant, and, of course, more shopping! :)

Today, Scott and I went snowboarding at Lee Canyon (Mt. Charleston).  We had a blast!  It was so nice to make the most of our day and do something that we really enjoy.  We had to put the chains on the car to get up the peak.  There was over 40" of fresh snow that was powder soft.  We can't wait to do it again!!!

Snowboarding fun...
