We enjoyed absolutely every moment of our summer break. We all feel refreshed and ready to tackle a new school year. The end of our summer consisted of football camp, scrimmages, ice cream, and sunshine.

Go Indians!
Last night was our first football game of the season. We played the Monroe City Panthers and won 41-25. We have had heat advisories this week and the game start time was pushed back to 8pm. It made for a late night but I am so excited to get this season off to a good start!

camping...
We got home from KC and set up camp in the back yard. We hung out in the tent all afternoon/evening.
Then we turned on the lantern and got settled in for bed, the locusts were singing (loudly), the stars were out, and there was a comfortable breeze.
Mack sat up and said, "I just can't sleep out here. I can only sleep in my bed or in a hotel." lol!
I tried to change his mind but we all ended up back in the house... in our comfy beds.

Build a Bear
We made it - and it was a big hit! Mack really enjoyed this experience. He chose a white bear (of course!...it will never be clean!) Stuffing him was the best part. He giggled in amazement and wonder ...priceless. Then he bathed & dried him. He decided to name him Snow.
Fun, Fun, Fun!
Kansas City...
We went to KC for my Aunt Shirley's memorial service. It was a very nice service and good to see family...just very difficult circumstances.
We did some school shopping while we were in the city and ended up staying an extra night. We stayed in Kansas near the sports parks and speedway. The KC TBones were playing right across from our hotel parking lot. We took Mack to his first official sporting event and we all enjoyed the evening.

Random
Infomercials... I LOVE THEM! In college I used to fall asleep at night watching them. I have always loved them. I am not sure why - I never actually buy anything.
Except that one time...Scott and I were in Reno at his parents house and I saw the Magic Bullet Blender and decided I would call and check it out because it looked like a great deal AND I wanted a drink blender. I was told the cost of the blender was 49.95 and it included all of these amazing bonus items and attachments. Shipping and Handling was... (wait for it)... 149.95!... OK, I am exaggerating but it was seriously more than the blender itself! I quickly said no thank you and hung up. That was my first and last attempt to buy anything advertised on my beloved infomercials.
Mack has apparently inherited my love of infomercials. He saw the Pop Arts infomercial - you know the one where you can make fruit shapes to create edible arrangements. He ranted and raved about how he NEEDED it and HAD to have it because it was so AWESOME!
Sadly, there was no way I was ordering anything off television.
The good news is we were at WalMart and walked by the As Seen on TV aisle and we found it for ten bucks!
What a deal!
He really has enjoyed it :)
Summer is flying by
... three more weeks until school starts
...Unbelievable!
Here are some things we are planning to do before we go back to school:
* visit the library
* exercise at the park
* swim at the pool
* go to the lake one last time
* camp out in our backyard
* see the movie Turbo
* go to Build-a-Bear
Playing at the park
We live a couple blocks from O-MAK-O-HAK Park and like to walk there when it is nice. (check out the name of our city park...it is Kahoka, Mo spelled backwards, hehe)
Mack rode his bike and Scott & I walked w/ the dogs.
Mack rode ahead of us for the most part.
Unless he needed to tell us something - then he would get off his bike and walk back to talk to us. ;)
playing..
love this man...
love this boy...
